Who Hijacked Reality / #395 A moment to reflect on, the nicest compliment I have received.

Journal Entry #395

March 30th, 2011

I received a compliment today from a post I put up on Face Book. I think this is worth sharing and pondering on.

My original comment;

Gary David Currie

Because those moments of success are exactly that moments I like to celebrate them.

My blog has hit another first which I feel is worth mentioning.

2096 visits in one day

2351 hits in one day

The numbers are consistently moving up in a predictable pattern.

…This seems to be generated from work I did approx. 6 months ago.

A big thanks to all who have read my humble opinion.

Gary David Currie

A moment to reflect upon…

This has got to be one of the most generous, nicest comments I have received. It is moments like this that help me to continue to keep doing what I am doing. When someone like L___ takes the time to offer such an insightful and gracious moment of appreciation amidst the vast majority of negativity I receive it fills me with strength to continue. I am honored and humbled..

  ….Thank you…I really support what you’re doing. you are doing a lot of things that many people don’t have the courage to. We need more people like you that really stand up for what they believe in who are unafraid of the criticism and treat everyone with the same even tone, common sense and reason! We all need someone like you to help us challenge our own way of thinking and misconceptions to make us focus on what we may not want to accept which are things we may not want to face directly.

 Thanks for this.

Gary

It is nice when people get what I am doing. My original intention in starting this journal / blog was to document my thoughts and to share them with others. I felt I had a unique perspective on life and maybe there was something I had to say that someone might find insightful or helpful.  Also I feel my music and art might touch someone’s life.

On a bigger scale I actually care about the human condition and although I have no illusion that I will affect life on a grand scale it has to start somewhere. Now I also don’t believe I am the one who started it but I hope to do my part. I also want to be able to do what I love and eventually get paid for it as I have to like everyone else pat the bills. I don’t know why I feel the way I do about life but I am at a stage in my life where I have decided to accept it and go with it.

I hope that on my journey I am able to touch your life in some way and I look forward to others touching mine.

Who Hijacked Reality / #393 The (MY) Truther movement.

Journal Entry #393

March 28th, 2011

I am always interested in exploring new concepts and new ideas. I research and look into many various topics. I am not settled on any issue to the point of where I will not change my mind. In order for my mind to be changed the evidence must be credible.

I have engaged in much discussion in the so called Truther movement. I say this because my experience has led me to offer the conclusion that is their version of truth they want to tell you and when challenged on their claims they engage in the same tactics that the faithful or any other claims based without credible evidence people  indulge in. Usually after I have challenged their claims they reach a point where they do not know how to deal with me so they ask me to leave. As long as I agree with them they are fine but I rarely do.

The truth movement is basically another religion for people to connect with. I have observed very little actual truth going on. I have also noticed that this is a business like any religion spawning radio shows, videos and ever other type off item to sell. Now I agree that governments and other ideals need to be accountable but it must be dealt within reality. Pretty much everything I have heard so far is nonsense but they believe it with all the fibre, sound familiar?

Now you can research these sites and claims yourself but my point here is this; they indulge in the same type of behaviour and I am generalizing that any other delusion dwells in just a different delusion.

Example;

I went to get a response I gave on a video and I was greeted by this message. They asked me to join the group and then;

You have been suspended from United Truth Seekers

“REPORT” FEMA Exercises at Giants Stadium. MARTIAL LAW IS COMING

This was the video I commented on.

The claims of this video are alarmist and completely unfounded, even going to the point of predicting a government murdering its citizens.

I wrote this on another site of which I thought I was welcomed but apparently not. I find a common thread of people asking you to leave or banning you when you do not agree. This to me is sad..

Slim Swayze take The Red Pill (Learn the Truth)

My goal is and always will be the search for truth. I have been asked to not post or comment so I will say one thing and then stop. The entire truth movement is about challenging others claims but you also have to be able to support the claims you also make. I agree with some but don’t with others so I challenge by asking questions. If people are just looking for others to agree with them then all you will be accomplishing is preaching to the choir. This solves nothing. The truth deserves our very best and there must be a system of checks and balances to verify it.  The very first thing one must be willing to do is admit they might be wrong. You try to prove a claim wrong in order for it to be proven right. If all people want is to just have others agree with them then that is your right. I personally do not enjoy  just preaching to the choir. Discussion is vital in the search.  It appears that so many cannot handle having their views on an issue challenged and use many tactics to avoid talking about the actual issue.

I realize this site serves a few purposes, For Slim to talk to his people, for musicians to promote their music of which I am one, for people to promote their personal agenda based on the truth movement but it also should be a forum for people to engage in discussion about the many issues raised. When one asks another to stop discussing because they disagree unless the person is insulting and people you have to have a thick skin  then you are engaging in the same behaviour that so many of you are fighting against. You become what you fight to change.

If you take things personally and focus on that part of a discussion you are avoiding the actual issues. My style of discussion has been the focus for many during the many conversation I have on many sites and in many forums. All I do is focus on the issues while not engaging in the drama if possible. When one focuses on anything but the actual issue it is usually a sign that they have no actual evidence for their claim. If you want to believe in things because you feel it is the truth that is your right but personally I actually care about what is true on all matters.

I am saddend by this development and to see that people cannot separate their personal problems which we all have from the actual issues.

I wish you all good luck in your endeavours and I will continue on with my music, art and writing with the agenda of actually seeking the truth.

Good luck to all

Gary David Currie of The Freeman

I seem to be in this area in my views where I do not fit into any group as my agenda seems too challenging to many. Their solution is to usually just ban me or ask me to leave.

I have found so far that very few who claim to be about truth in any way are actually about truth

Who Hijacked Reality / #392 The success of any delusional thinking depends on keeping it a mystery.

Sunday, March 27th, 2011

Journal Entry #392

March 27th, 2011

Once the veil has been lifted and the aura of the mystery is identified how can one continue to accept delusional thoughts as real? The answer is they cannot and that is why the mystery must be maintained and promoted. I see it frequently. My job is to remove this mystery by offering credible evidence as well as demonstrating that the claim is not valid. The hoops one has to jump through to do this seem endless.

A great example of this is on the show “THE BIG BANG THEORY”. Sheldon is considered a genius even by his own mother. He denies the existence of Jesus and yet his mother who considers him very smart still denies his conclusion.  The character will not face the facts. I know this is a TV show with fictional characters but I can easily see this scenario being played out in real life. In fact I have witnessed it myself many times.

I often say in regards to any gods that are claimed that if that particular god where to just present themselves and verify that they are who they claim to be then the matter would be settled but this would take away the mystery. There is nothing like actually having proof to put an issue to rest.

We can see that science daily offers explanations that then become verified for many of the mysteries we wonder about. Once it is a fact we move on to the next one. The problem with mysteries like gods or anything related to these esoteric concepts is that they are currently beyond or reach to be able to give a definitive answer; they deal with the big questions. Still we are ignorant and in denial if we do not accept the knowledge about these concepts that we already know and that is exactly what happens.

There are plenty of mysteries that are based in reality but unfortunately the answers or the possibility of getting an answer seem beyond our grasp. As the physicist Brian Cox says “if you just hold up a dime towards the sky in that spot there are 10,000 galaxies” I am paraphrasing from a quote I read.   http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00zdhtg Now if that does not offer mystery I don’t know what does. If we could just understand that when we don’t know something the very first answer we need to give is “I don’t know.”

I have covered the many reasons we engage in delusional thinking and the reasons that as a society we accept those delusions as normal but I would hope that we continue to as I and many others  focus on what is probably true and not keep filling in the blanks / mystery with manmade concepts that are steeped in mystery.

I consistently see people try to fill in these blanks and when challenged they do everything to a void actually facing the challenge. I see k the truth and this should be the goal for all but right now it is not. They believe it is and of course feel I am the one that is delusional because I do not engage in the fantasy of the month but I hope this will continue to change. I see this change slowly happening but it is happening.  I am going to repost a great video from Michio Kaku on our chance of moving on as a species. This will directly relate to the reason mystery and how we approach it is so important.

http://bigthink.com/ideas/24407  Will mankind destroy itself?

Mystery and the wonder of seeking out what we do not know is fantastic but that search must be based in reality dealing with the process that science and reason has given us to verify truth. If you just speculate and take as true the answer you feel is right without verifying it or even basing it in reality then you are probably dealing with delusional thinking and this really needs to stop.

Each mystery we unravel brings us closer to a sane world.

Who Hijacked Reality / #391 More intellectual dishonesty..

Saturday, March 26th, 2011

Journal Entry #391

March 26th, 2011

I try and have discussions with as many people as possible who make claims whether they be religious or otherwise and believe me religious people are not the only ones making claims that need to be challenged. Another large group of people and I am generalizing are people who subscribe to the idea of truth seekers. I find that they offer the same terrible arguments and intellectual dishonesty in the verification of their claims.

Trading one delusion for another does not make the claim any more valid but I find people feel that it does. I have found people say that believing in god is ridiculous but then they will claim some sort of spirituality or another false claim that has no bearing in reality. I take the same approach with all claims by asking for verifiable evidence and the responses I get are very similar, all you have to do is substitute the delusions.

Keep in mind that I am very honest in my approach and I base things on credible evidence. I have no problem with exploring new concepts but I believe I can spot the nonsense very quickly.

Some recent examples and at no time have they actually offered any evidence but have used several tactics to avoid any verification of the claim;

- Gary. Firstly, neither am I religious nor ‘faithful’, as you call it. I have simply expanded my consciousness thus raising my awareness.

-The mainstream (media, science, etc) NEVER, EVER, EVER discloses the truth about scientific achievements, human origins of life, spirituality or medicine. Only the parasites in charge are privy to this knowledge, sad to say

- If you fail to learn from our conversation and feel I am talking nonsense then that kind of proves that you are the one with the closed mind.

- The very fact that you ask for physical proof proves to me that you lack spiritual insight. How then can I give you proof?

-. Unfortunately, it appears to me that it is You who lacks the insight and wisdom to grow, at least at this current moment.

-My way of thinking allows for no limitations, only for growth, development, insight and wisdom. I don’t mean to say that I have the answers to everything, I am merely saying that I am convinced to be on the right path, even if I am still at the beginning. Try looking for answers within, Gary, things will become so much clearer. For as long as you seek the truth externally, you will not find it

- I have given you tons of information to work with but you still refuse to see it.

-I will repeat myself here, I have plenty of evidence that satisfies me, in accordance with my own intuition and understanding….the question is will it satisfy YOU? My guess is No because, as I said, you strike me as someone who will never have enough proof, you will always debunk and you will always have more questions than answers…until you broaden your understanding of things. I cannot get anymore straight forward than that.

- So far you are the first who called me ‘all over the place’ but this I put down to your lack of understanding on these issues.

- What would be the point in me explaining spirituality to you? You wouldn’t understand a thing, you have proven this to me. Instead why don’t you try to discover your OWN spirituality and then converse with me again about this?

- Of course there is more to spirituality than what I mentioned so far, but not much point in discussing it with someone who doesn’t want to understand it and is just looking to debunk.

- It is yet again, that you just don’t seem to get what I am saying to you. I told you before that spirituality cannot be measured or proven with conventional methods.

- Your attempt at research is therefore preposterous. A good source of research on the subject of psyche/soul is Carl Gustav Jung, if you can be bothered to check that out.

- Remember what I said about people like you always being left with more questions? This kind of proves my point. There is nothing further I can give you, start looking within and ask the right questions. That’s when the answers will come to you…or as you call it…Proof. Beyond this, please don’t ask me to verify anything else as I believe I have provided enough by now.

I try real hard to have a conversation but when people use tactics as demonstrated above constantly focusing on deflecting any responsibility for their position. How can one have a conversation? How can we even get to a point where we are actually seeking the truth?

It often appears that I am blamed because I do not agree with what is presented so it is now my fault that I just cannot possibly understand what they are trying to tell me. Of course there usually has not been one bit of evidence presented that can be tested or verified. I am open to speculation and exploring but bullshit is bullshit.

The commonality is that people believe they have some special knowledge that those who are not in the know could not possibly understand. I see it in religion /faith, spirituality and several other concepts that have been thoroughly discredited as being valid. I really have a very hard time finding people who actually deal with reason and the truth. I find this very sad.

Who Hijacked Reality / #390 It is Atheist week.

Friday, March 25th, 2011

Journal Entry #390

March 25th, 2011

Apparently this week is Atheist week. Who knew?

http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/being-catholic-really/2011/03/national-atheists-week.html

National Atheists Pride Week

This was posted on a Face Book friend’s page. He is an Atheist activist who works hard at promoting.

·         Joe Zamecki

Tomorrow, Saturday, March 26, 2011 is Atheist Coming Out Day. What all will Atheists be doing in regards to that? Coming out if they haven’t yet, helping someone else come out, or just reminding folks you care about that you’re a proud Atheist. I will be making a video about Atheism, in public tomorrow. :o )

While there were many comments I am only going to post mine;

Gary David Currie……….. I hope one day we can get to a point here there is no need to come out as an atheist as this only gives the idea of gods legitimacy. That is the problem. It is like coming out as being gay it should just be a normal part of life. We continually give legitimacy to the wrong ideas. What this all really about is acknowledgment of the truth and I find that gets lost in the battle for a sane world. I applaud your efforts Joe I just hope that one day you will be able to focus those efforts on the other passions you have such as helping people in need of food. I hope you don’t feel I am diminishing the process. I just want us to be able to actually deal with more important things than battling lunacy. I realize this is a very important part of the process but we need to remember the real goal which is not to be an atheist but to just live in a sane world. I always tell people if you did not claim there was a god I would have no need to challenge it.

To even have this label is ridiculous,, the label of atheist. I have no probelm telling people that I am an atheist but it really is like saying;

It is National:

I don’t believe in Pixies week.

The moon is not made of green Cheese week.

Bigfoot was an Atheist week.

This is what everyone had as their profile picture this week.

I think you get the point. Although this like I said is all part of the process of getting to a sane world I cannot believe how much time, effort and money we as a species put into the indulging and the debunking of  the so many fantasy concepts we take as true. Why this is necessary is a huge problem.

If you have read any of my blogs you will notice that I am about the truth that should be our focus. The truth is that we must contend with these delusions before we can move on and deal with problems that should actually have our focus.  I am sure that many people who are proud Atheists will not agree with me on this matter but I find myself having to deal with the misconceptions we take as truth than the actual truth.

This is so sad that humans refuse to just acknowledge what is true.
