This is a link to all the major arguments for and against god.

http://legacy.lclark.edu/~ndsmith/god_arguments.htm

ARGUMENTS ABOUT THE EXISTENCE OF GOD AND RELIGIOUS BELIEF

If you are a believer all the arguments that support your claim are weak and not sound. It basically boils down to one argument and that is the argument from ignorance which basically says until you can prove me wrong 100% I will fill in the blank with what I want to and that is my god.

I will present an argument from Anselm;

Anselm,

In this argument he states only a believer can accept the premise of this arguments,

It is not the premise that is logical but the argument itself once you have accepted the premise

Anselm argument for the definition of god…

God is something that which nothing greater can be thought

So god exists in the understanding

But to exist in actuality would be greater than existing only in the understanding

Thus god (because nothing greater can be thought) must exist in actuality

To conclude otherwise is to violate the definition of god

Now let’s change the word god;

Anselm,

In this argument he states only a believer can accept the premise of these arguments,

It is not the premise that is logical but the argument itself once you have accepted the premise

Anselm argument for the definition of Nagrom…

Nagrom is something that which nothing greater can be thought

So Nagrom exists in the understanding

But to exist in actuality would be greater than existing only in the understanding

Thus Nagrom (because nothing greater can be thought) must exist in actuality

To conclude otherwise is to violate the definition of Nagrom…………

So does this change anything? Yes it does. You see the problem with all these arguments is that we have a predetermined idea of what god is and this completely changes the flow and outcome of the argument. It is not about the argument being logical or sound it is about god and the believer has already made up their mind.

We must acknowledge what we do know and not accept as true what we do not know. There is not one sound argument for any of the gods of man in fact they are so weak that once the terminology is changed we can see the truth if we are willing.

Again I must stress that the burden of proof is always on the one making the claim and once an argument has been refuted it should not be used as credible again but they still do because they will not acknowledge that they have been refuted. So forget logic and reason here I only see one argument as I have said before and that is the argument from ignorance. Look it up.

Who Hijacked Reality / #456 We just don’t like to hear the truth now do we?

Journal Entry #456

May 29th, 2011

I am sorry that the vast majority of people in this world just don’t want to acknowledge the truth. I am sure you can agree with me as it is demonstrated on a daily basis. Hell we can’t even agree on what the truth is as everyone appears to have their own definition and way of determining what is true.

Is it better to live with a mix of delusion and reality? If you are deluded in some way are you really dealing with reality? Who decides what the truth actually is and how do we know that we have a true definition of the concept to go by?

TRUTH;

I believe it is everything in life it is all that is real, all that is.

Is a truth seeker actually seeking the truth? Do we really care and if we do why should we?

I could be wrong but I think I have the concept defined correctly and I find and have found throughout my life that people just don’t want to hear what is actually true. It is so easy to deny reality in certain parts and mix in what you want to be reality with other truths. This will not change what is true as the truth really does not care what we think.

I am offering as others sound and rational thoughts on certain issues and concepts but I find it incredibly hard for people to accept them at least to the point of open –minded discussion. The delusions always seem to get in the way.

This will appear arrogant on my part to many but I am more than willing to openly discuss what I present although most are not. I believe that following what is actually true and there are those who I respect who are in agreement on most matters with me as solution orientated critical thinking that will greatly benefit humanity once embraced but again most do not want to hear or acknowledge this. To be honest on the grand scale of the universe all I am really doing is satisfying my own desires which prompt me to act in the manner I do but that is just fine as that will be my legacy.

It is not hard to figure out what is actually true in most cases but this will only take place if people are interested in what is really true and based on what I have seen this is not the case. Delusion is s powerful drug that many inject on a daily basis.

So ask yourself this;

Do you actually care about what is true?

How do you define truth?

How do you determine what is true and this method must be applicable to all of life?

If you do not agree with the methods of science and reason to determine truth as the best method we have so far then please share with me your method. I have asked many who disagree with my method to do this and so far no one has offered me anything that is reasonable, most offer nothing at all but continue to disagree with me.

This really is the basis for all things in life and we should place a value upon it on par with its importance but we do not. Once the concept is understood and agreed upon then it is just a matter of acknowledging what is true and what is not. That is how easy it is and I believe it would change everything for humanity. I believe this one act will be the saviour we so desperately are seeking.

We all think we know the truth, we all think we are right but we can’t all be now can we. We certainly can all be wrong though and once this truth is acknowledged we have the beginning of a better life for all of humanity.

Seek the truth always

Who Hijacked Reality / #455 Our survival instinct is so strong….

Saturday, May 28th, 2011

Journal Entry #455

May 28th, 2011

Our survival instinct is so ingrained in us that once we realized that we are going to die and what that means we created a way to believe that we could survive beyond this.

Look at everything we do on a daily basis it really is about survival, about existing and all else flows from this. I have used Maslow’s hierarchy of needs before as an example as it perfectly illustrates and explains why we do what we do but I will say that it does not happen in an orderly fashion such as demonstrated in the chart. It is the self realization, our awareness that we are alive that we exist that drive us. This is what separates’ us from all other species on this planet, our ability to see beyond the moment.

We want to live beyond what we think is our mortal life so we have created all these elaborate delusions to extend this life. Now there is of course no credible evidence for any of this but humanities history is rich and diverse along this pattern. We now know better and yet we still carry on in this self deception.

Besides our need to survive daily with the necessities it seems we fell this need to be valued, to feel important not only to ourselves but also to others whom we surround ourselves with. Again this will only be valued in this one and only life so why do we spend so much time fooling ourselves that there is a life beyond? Not a only a life but we have decided that this life is so fantastic that we have created so many other delusions to support the main delusion. Once we buy into the nonsense then the games begin and what games they are as we have made them so elaborate with so many rules that we end up killing each other over them.

Also during this existence we have realized there is what we call reality but reality does not fulfill the desires that we truly want. It only hinders them  by telling us that this is probably the one and only life we will get so what do we do, we ignore reality by pretending that it does not exist. Well it does whether you like it or not.

Doesn’t matter what I say or do it will not change reality, you will not live forever so suck it up butter cup and get on with what is actually true. It really is the same message over and over I promote but I just try to say it in as many ways as possible hoping that something will click in the minds of people. It seems like a futile effort at times as the delusion is powerful the fantasy is hypnotizing but at the end of all the mystery it really is not true, there are no gods or anything else that we have created to fulfill this desire to survive beyond this life.

Why do I continually promote the idea that god is not real? Besides than fact that it is the truth and I value the truth this life we have can be so much better for all by accepting reality and working towards a positive existence for all. The time and effort both physically and mentally that is exhausted in keeping these delusions alive is staggering and futile. The web of lies that has been created from this survival instinct must be exposed and accepted for what it really is. We are so caught up in this deception that most cannot see that it even might be a deception. If there really is an afterlife do you not think that someone would have been able to get a clear message back to us somehow to let us know it is real?

There are so many other ways to fill the needs we have, to feel important without fooling ourselves. If you truly look at the method we have chosen to feel important such as religion you will actually see it makes us feel less important than more important. The harm that is caused far outweighs the benefits so use a little common sense here and realize that reality dictates things in a certain way even though it may not be what you want. I am sure you will find some way to see that you can benefit from reality by accepting it more than you can by denying it.

This is the one and only life, this is the only moment and all else is delusional thinking so embrace this moment, embrace this life and let’s get on with the business of survival that can be more pleasant than miserable. It really is a choice and we need to stop choosing the delusion.

Who Hijacked Reality / #454 Why did god create humanity, what reason would he have?

Friday, May 27th, 2011

Journal Entry #454

May 27th, 2011

Instead of getting caught up in the middle of any delusion I like to stay out of it and address the important questions. It is these questions that actually determine the truth quicker than getting caught up in all the nonsense once the delusion is accepted as true. I have a rule to never get sucked into the delusion because once you engage on this level all sanity is lost.

So the important question when it comes to the discussion around faith and gods is where the universe came from. I realize that we have established with credible evidence but not complete that the big bang was the beginning but what went bang and where did all this space come from in the first place. Now the faithful would have us believe as true that their god created all this just for us, this massive universe just for humanity to be special in. Common sense tells us this is nonsense. The answer really is that we don’t know but let’s just say I buy into this for a minute so I can present my case.

If this is true here is the important question; why would god create humanity? What purpose do we serve for god? Are we his ant farm or his experiment? With all the power that god wields, the ability to create anything especially beyond our imagination he decides to create humanity with all our frailties and faults. He designs us poorly but for what purpose? He designs us so that we are able to doubt and look beyond him but why do this?

Why create a world that offers no verifiable evidence for god’s existence? Why make billions of galaxies with billions of stars with a high probability of life on other planets, everything that he created points to the idea that he is not real. What purpose do we serve for god?

Now lets some inject some common sense here. If all things point to god not being real and there really being no apparent or reasonable purpose for us with god then maybe the obvious answer is that there is no god, now that makes sense. It always amazes me how the world actually makes sense when you accept reality and acknowledge that gods are not real.

WHAT DO PEOPLE THINK GOD DOES EVERDAY SIT UP THERE AND CATER TO OUR EVERY NEED?

Look I am sure if you are one of the faithful you can think up all sorts of fantastical answers to my questions and they will make perfect sense to you but  none of it will be verifiable and rational.

Everything I do has a reason, a purpose sometimes I am not aware of these reasons but they are not magical I am sure. Based on this logic god will have a reason for everything he does and you can make shit up all you want to but nothing will truly make sense as a reason for god to create humanity once it is questioned and put to the test.

Based on how fast we get bored with things in our life I can just imagine a god who has ultimate power getting bored very fast and we would  be put in the toy closet as quick as we were created as god moves on to the next toy.

Now if we follow evolution and what we know to be true then life actually makes sense. Of course we don’t know all the answers but that is the exciting part now isn’t it, the journey to discover these truths.

So why did god create humanity? The answer is simple he didn’t and it is time we accepted this as a species. Life will make more sense and you might be surprised how many of our problems disappear once we no longer follow the gods of man.

Who Hijacked Reality / #453 I hope one day we live in a world without atheism.

Thursday, May 26th, 2011

Journal Entry #453

May 26th, 2011

This is my greatest desire at this moment to live in a world where Atheism is no longer necessary. The only reason it is necessary now is because so many profess a belief in god and those who value truth and see that faith in god is destructive feel they must challenge it.

One day when religion and belief in gods is a thing of the past there will be no need to declare that one is an atheist it will just be part of being human.  It is simply a declaration that one does not believe in gods and when there is no one to profess the need to believe in the gods of man there will no longer be a need to be an atheist as it will simply be.

One does not declare they do not believe in unicorns, pixies, ogres or anything else that exists within the realm of fantasy and when humanity passes through this phase of believing in gods it will only be present in our entertainment and will not be valued as true by anyone. That is the logical progression of the evolution of humanity.

Every day the fantasy of religion and gods loses credibility. As each generation is born the grip of superstition and religion becomes weaker. This will be inevitable as evolution will prevail. If we become extinct evolution will continue on as we are not necessary for the process we are just a small part of it.

Science will prevail, evolution demands this. The man behind the curtain has revealed his face and it is the face of man. Yes there are many who still crave what one cannot have and try as they might to break the rules of the universe it will be in vain. With each new discovery faith and god answers our questions less and less until the myth becomes the true myth it always has been. Like all gods their strength is in their acknowledgment and when no one is left to follow them they disappear. This has happened many times in our history and the pattern will continue.

When a child is born it is not born believing in any god. As the child grows it learns by what it is shown. Eventually children will not be shown that god is real or even that there is a concept called god.  We will at this time as a species pass another stage in our evolution and who knows what the next stage will hold for us.

I might see this day but I don’t realistically think it will happen in my lifetime but I am confident that it will happen as it must. If it doesn’t then I would imagine we will no longer be here as I feel this hurdle will make or break us. All things that seem so important at this moment mean nothing in the scale of the universe. What happens to humanity only matters to humanity as that is as far as we can envision reality thus far. We still don’t realize how big the universe is and how small our role in it truly is. Maybe when we do realize this it will be the moment we accept reality and embrace what is actually true.

Once doubt has entered the game the fantasy can no longer sustain and like all myths that were believed as true in the past this one will run its course. I find it sad that there will be so much harm done in this process that we could easily avoid. We are at a point in our development where we can see the harm we are causing ourselves but we continue to do it anyways. Eventually there must be a tipping point as in all things balance will prevail this is the natural order and evolution demands it.

So whether you like it or not we will evolve as we have since our inception. How we evolve will be the mystery that we must face. We can envision our future as no other species on this planet has been able to do before us but the problem is we are not very good at it yet.

Seek the truth always
