We are all looking for that magic formula to life, to answer those big questions and to navigate our way through our daily activities. We all want happiness and to be successful. Each one of us will determine this in a different way but I do believe I have found the secret well I call it that because people love secrets but really it is just something as a species I see us continually failing at. Understanding this one concept I do believe will change so much for us.

I see this in my daily discussions, in personal relationships and all over the world. What it leads to I do believe is the basis for so many of our conflicts on every scale imaginable.

Are you ready?

I will personalize this but the idea is that if everyone adopted this it would open the doors for us all.

I am willing to admit and accept that I can be wrong on anything.

You would not believe how many people that will not accept this. It doesn’t matter their belief system in fact most belief systems demand that you cannot accept this which is the flaw and the control mechanism. They have built in punishments for doing so and are well crafted to take away the option.

If I follow my motto of seeking the truth always then I must do this even though I could be wrong on this as well. Over the last 2 years the acceptance of this has proven to me to be the one thing we need to do because when we do we actually break down all the walls and open ourselves up to the truths in life that we all seek but many think the have found.  

This does not mean we do not accept certain things as true based on the available information but we realize theta things can change. Change is a constant that has proven itself beyond a reasonable doubt at this time so to not accept this is to ignore reality as we know it.

The objection to the admittance of being wrong is vast and sometimes hostile. When it comes to a personal belief that someone accepts as an absolute they will adamantly object. This has lead to so much misery in the world and so much pain when the simple acceptance of this will prevent much of the harm we inflict upon ourselves. We accept that we live in a world of uncertainty and I do believe that is a good thing.

We all seek the truth and yet so few are willing to even define it, here is my definition and I certainly could be wrong.

Truth- all that is, all that is real, all that is part of reality and all that is factual.

How we determine what is true based on a shared accepted point of reference we call reality. – Verification through the method of the scientific process, reason and logic.

I believe that we cannot verify anything 100% as doubt can always be cast however small so we work on a system of probabilities, best guess and beyond reasonable doubt to
say that we know something is true.

We should never believe anything in the unknown to be true until it is verified as known. We can speculate, imagine and engage in fantasy thinking but must always come back to our base of reality. The unknown should not be used as an argument to dispute the known or another unknown as this is just pure speculation.

For every question there can only be one answer that is true.

Once something is known it is no longer up for debate there is only acceptance or ignorance.

There is only truth based on my definition.

The truth will remain the truth no matter what we think our try and do to it, we are powerless over it and yet it is what gives us our power.

Something is either true or it is not even if we do not know if it is true or not.

 

 

This frees our minds to offer the most fantastic answer ever “ I DON’T KNOW” which is the answer on the vast majority of questions we ask and I am ok with this. I will qualify it by adding this “I don’t know but let’s see if we can find out”.

Now everything we do takes on a new meaning as our minds become open like when we were children when all things seemed full of wonder and awe. We no longer need to fight over who is right and who is wrong because we all know we could all be wrong so we are willing to take the best guess.

This is what science offer us and the method is sound;

Here is the Scientific method so we are clear;

1. We often first make an observation of something that has happened.

2. We then consider what caused this thing to happen by posing an educated uess or hypothesis.

3. we can then make predictions about what we should expect to see if our hypothesis is correct.

4. If necessary, experimentation and data collection may be conducted.

5. Further observation is necessary, which will lead to 3 possible outcomes..

a If we observe that our data positively supports our prediction, then we have hypothesis confirmation..(at least for now)

b. If we observe that our data do not support our prediction, then we have hypothesis falsification and we may be forced to either give up or modify our hypothesis.

c. If there are simply not enough data to decide either way, then we suspend judgement.

6. Finally we need to consider whether there are any other competing hypothesis that provide an equally plausible or likely explanation for our observation. If there are we need to ask ourselves which seems more reasonable. If there are no others, then we may decide to tentatively to accept the hypothesis based on the currently available information.

Like I have said the opposition I get to this is amazing but when one accepts this then we have great discussions. The one I like the best is when I am told I always think I am right usually just after I have said I can be wrong on anything…

Here is an amazing example from a page of devout Christians called Born Again in India. The answer to my question is simple but it challenges the very concept of the belief and to deny the belief is considered a sin so to accept the obvious answer is blasphemy. What a great trap devised by someone long ago.

So the obvious answer is….. I wouldn’t know….. but this person would have lost their mind if they had to admit that. It would shake the very foundation of all they held as true and brought into question everything, I see this as a good thing they did not.

I hope one day all can see the power in this statement I offer. I am not the first to see this and I hope I am not the last.. We don’t know what we don’t know. This is probably the most important post I have written but will mostly be ignored. I have planted a seed that will germinate and bear fruit one day.

Well another prediction of Doomsday, End of Days, Judgment Day, End of Times and the Rapture has come and gone. Another failed attempt at professing the claims of the bible but I will at least give him credit for one thing. He is not trying to hide behind the curtain of mystery and puts his claims to the test.

So many believers use this tactic to try and put fear into others, the tactic of placing their god or belief in a shroud of mystery. Only in this position does it hold power if believed because once it is put to the test it will fail. It fails because there is no evidence or good reason to support it in the first place. A good dose of reason and common sense backed up with some critical thinking skills easily shows the flaws in these claims. It verifies that they are no true.

So I will give props to Harold for putting it on the line but where he ultimately fails is by not accepting the results of his own test. You would think after the first one he should realize he was wrong but I will give him the benefit of human error on that one but after the second it should be a no brainer. In his case 3 strikes and he is out, Epic failure.

So believers need to put their money where their mouth is if they are going to make a public claim, forget the issues of gay marriage, abortion or prayer in the schools let’s get to the meat of the matter, is their god even real? Is what you base all of your actions on true to begin with? As we have seen with Harold the answer is probably no and with Harold a definite no. Now it is time to put up or shut up. This is what needs to be at the forefront of the discussion not all the filler nonsense. I don’t care what religion or faith you profess Islam, Judaism or whatever else you claim as true if you cannot prove it then just keep it to yourself.

This is the bottom line where the rubber meets the road. Most religions have literally had 100’s of years to come good on their claim and have never delivered so it is time to stop. This can be seen with Conspiracy theories, Alien claims and many other unverified nonsense. So just stop and as a species we should not accept any of these claims unless they can be proven.

So if all people are willing to put their claims to the test then we can get all this crap over with but they are not as they will continue to siphon their importance in life by following their special pet beliefs.

It is high time we put it all to the test and yes science is the test like or not. When faith confirms something as true we will consider this the testing method until then it has failed the test.

As I live my daily life connecting with others around this planet I see displayed so much misery, hate and fear. I ask myself can we not move past this. Why is it so hard for us to just stop all this destructive behaviour? Now I realize we are all not engaging in this but it seems to be the order of the day. Fear just breeds more fear, hate breeds more hate.

Are we even capable of this change? If you are in a room with 20 people and everyone seems to be getting along all it takes is one person to change the mood of the room in a negative way. Next thing you know everyone is negative.

We seem to thrive on misery and at this point are so desensitized to it that it glosses over us.  One starving child we think we can help but when we see millions we give up.

I have talked about this many times before; the solutions will be as hard or as easy as we want them to be but the first step is to actually decide we want to change. How we do this is by identifying the obstacles to the change and deciding we are ready to move forward. We have not done this yet. We just keep trying to protect our little piece of the planet, trying to individually survive and as a strategy for the species this will not serve us well.

When the predominant activities are social in nature we are in for it. Look I have my offerings for a better world and so do others so we need to get together and work on this. It must be based in reality with achievable and realistic goals or else we are just wasting our time. Yes I realize that I have set ground rules that many will disagree with but apparently everything else out there has not worked so far so how about giving this a chance.

If it takes 10 years of my life or the life’s of others to hash our way through this it will have been 10 years well spent. Those years will pass by anyways so what is the problem. The problem is a desire to admit things are not working and be willing to change and this is incredibly hard for many to do.

I am under no illusion that people are listening to me but I must say my piece anyways. Of course we cannot literally affect everyone in the world directly but who knows where things can go. If I do nothing then nothing will happen.

I offer this;

We need people to represent humanity not countries, cultures, races or other interests that are counter to the betterment of the species. We need a plan but most importantly we need people to listen. There is a slim to nil chance of this happening anytime soon as we are still at our tribal war stage but this will be part of the process to move away from the legacies of our ancestors. We are there technically as a beginning to great things but our state of mind is still stuck in our barbaric past. Slowly we are recognizing our mistakes and there are those trying to affect change but it will not work until we fundamentally change our belief systems.

The constant theme I hear throughout many of my discussions with people from many different backgrounds holding various belief systems is that you cannot prove something either way so since you cannot prove it false absolutely that means it could be true. They are correct but is it probably true is the question they need to be asking.

When you engage in a discussion about things that cannot be verified the idea would be to not believe it as true until it can be verified. It would be foolish to think that the universe is inside a marble inside another marble as true even thought it might be until it can be verified. Take anything that we consider as unknowable at this point and if you accept it as true without credible evidence then you are lying to yourself.

I see this all the time when it comes to discussions based on a person faith. When I ask for evidence of their faith they will tell me that it is a personal experience and because of this experience they have decided it is true. Now they can’t transfer this experience to me so I can never know if what they say is true just based on their testimony and that is why we rely on other types of verifiable evidence. It must be this way because we all have different experiences but we can find commonality in shared experiences and this is what reason and science offers us. To deny this is insanity.

Atheist Calls Religious People ‘Idiots’ On British Debate Show

As she said if I believed in flying teapots’ as true you would think I was an idiot. Look just because many people believe things on faith doesn’t make it correct or true and again that is why we use evidence, verifiable evidence.

Something is either true or it is not and how we determine this is called “Beyond a reasonable doubt”. So if reasonable doubt can be cast then it probably is not true and you would be an idiot on the matter to continue to believe in it as true.

This kind of thinking is a huge problem, a cancer on society as it leads to more delusional thinking. It must be based in reality, it must be falsifiable and once a conclusion is reached based on reason and the scientific method we would be wise to accept it until it is proven otherwise.

But they just don’t listen. It is beyond me why they want what they want to be true so badly that they will fool themselves because if you actually look at the belief systems and the rewards associated they are not what they seem.

 Be careful what you wish for in life and in death.

I often get a standard set of proofs for god and offers to accept Jesus in my many discussions but this will not change anything. If I get down on my knees and beg for the love of god and declare I accept Jesus with all my fibre it will not change what is true. Only the verifiable evidence will change what I acknowledge as true.

‎@ Gary ….if you are well versed in Christianity then you must know the bible well…. so if you know the bible well then you know of the promises of God…why would u not want to experience those promises?

@Gary I also had doubts at one time wondering if God is true and real..but the scripture says TASTE AND SEE IF THE LORD IS GOOD…may i ask you, have you ever given God a chance to PROVE himself to you….how will u know if you 100% turn your back on God…. I have given this world and the natural a chance..I did not like it, I prefer to belong To God!!! Gary, give God a chance…

The other one I get as that they used to be just like me;

@Gary….I HAVE ALREADY TRAVELED DOWN THE ROAD YOU ARE ON GARY, do not mean to hurt your feelings. My confidence is not in my own conclusions but revelations that have been givin by the LIVING GOD. How crazy would that be for me to digress and seek out something that has already proven itself to be the inferior way of thinking? You don’t need to understand my position , but it is THE position of GOD THAT COUNTS . I am not interested in getting into meaningless discussions about what you believe or anyone else. THIS IS NOT A matter of matching wits its a matter of LIFE AND DEATH . I HAVE FOUND LIFE AND IT IS UNREFUTEABLE, UNDENIEABLE AND FRANKLY UNBELIEVEABLE. but it is true and it is all because of the GRACIOUSNES OF MY FATHER , WHO GAVE HIS SON FOR ME . SORRY BUT YOU CAN’ EVEN COME CLOSE TO MATCHING THAT. ON THIS NOTE, I can afford to be dogmatic, because the truth always equals the truth, but we must find the TRUTH that is real . and THAT CAN ONLY BE DONE BY RELINQUISHING our selfish fleshly desire that opposes all that GOD IS AND WANTS FOR US . ITS CALLED THE SPIRIT OF CAIN, and this is where you are.

Then they attack me personally whereas I stick to the issues;

Gary the first point of attack , when we know we are wrong, is to go on the offense and start the juddering game. ALL OF THE SUDDEN YOU HAVE BECOME AN AUTHORITY ON WHAT IS RIGHT AND WHAT IS WRONG. I find this very confusing considering that you without hesitation boast about not knowing GOD, BUT KNOWING A BETTER WAY.

 

The continual lack of reasoning, logic and truth based on verifiable evidence is astounding.

The delusion we call religion is one on an unimaginable scale. It permeates are daily life’s so deeply that to not be part of the delusion is considered to be delusional. This is sad

Like I said it will not make on bit of difference to the truth if I and every other person on their planet dedicated their life to Jesus or some other god. There is no good reason to believe the gods of man to be true and appealing to emotions will not change this.

This is usually what I propose during these conversations in one form or another;

I value truth above all and how we determine it is by verifiable evidence. If you can offer me one shred of verifiable evidence I will certainly accept it as it will be true. As a realist I accept all that is true.

I will warn you know that I have either written or covered pretty much every argument or case for god as true so if you have something new I am all ears.

In that case Gary I am truly sorry for you, for no matter how many good works you try to encourage..it will all be for nothing.. and I beg to differ it is indeed now verifiable.. but I guess no matter what proof i offer you, if you insist o…n looking through tainted glasses you will not see or accept anything as evidence.. i think that is really sad. At no time did I ask you to pretend that God is real!.. i merely provided the evidence you requested.. however I see now you are not prepared to accept any proof, and for that I regret beginning a dialogue.. I thought for a moment there, you may have been open to debate.. however it is you that is closed.. that is regrettable.

Gary David Currie………… That is not science , it is proof but it is very bad proof and not verifiable. You can pray all you want to as I said been there done that and god simply is not real. I refuse to pretend he is. If he was real he has had plenty of opportunity to show me and so far nothing which is actually the best evidence to show god does not exist.

Gary David Currie………… Your kidding with the video right that is definitely not science nor is it in anyway credible evidence it is called pseudo science. There are plenty of molecules that do not look that way and even if all molecules looked that way it is not p…roof for god only proof that molecules look like what we consider to be a cross. This is not how science works. If this was scrutinized by say 100 microbiologists there conclusion would not be his.

One must accept all evidence not just what one feels supports the conclusion that is not again how science works.

You are more than welcome to but I am proof that one can do good deeds without god if you are into accepting testimonials mine should be just as valid and true as yours. But wait we can’t all be right but we can all be wrong.

Gary David Currie …………. if what you offer as truth is actually true I will certainly accept it as it will be true. I am just not gullible. You may think it is sad all you want to but that will not change what is true and reality and that is what I value. MY glasses are not tainted unless you compare them to yours. I compare mine to the great minds of this and past ages.

No you did not provide the evidence I requested you provided what you thought was good enough for you but no scientist in their right mind would accept this and neither will I.

I am open for debate always are you? Like I said I ask hard questions as incredible claims require incredible evidence.

Gary David Currie………… Scepticism is the beginning of an open mind as this leads to questioning and verification. Remember and so many forget this you and others have made the claim and the burden of proof is upon you not me. It is called proving something beyond a reasonable doubt. I can and have cast reasonable doubt on your offering. This is how we determine truth we do not decide what is true first and then look for evidence we let the evidence speak then use it to make our conclusions.
