Dr. Phil, Oprah and Dr. Oz are a few examples of TV Talk show hosts. Although Dr. Phil is a Doctor first and foremost he is an entertainer. Don’t be fooled it’s all about the money. He’s only on the air because his show makes money. So when does a professional  former psychologist decide that he no longer wants to practise medicine and decide to take those skills and use them to entertain people?

all about the great Dr. Phil.

I am sure that when you take your oath to help people in your chosen discipline within the medical field it does not include letting the entire world know about the issues a patient might have. Is airing your dirty laundry on national TV healthy for the patient? If this was a private practise would he recommend that they go On TV and be put on display solving all your problems in one episode with those little pearls of wisdom that Dr. Phil drops. Don’t get me wrong there is a lot of very pertinent and helpful advice but really is it in the appropriate avenue for helping those in need of it?

OK I am going to assume that it is not healthy to want to be on TV and talk about your issues. In fact I would think that if you wanted to do this you would be adding to your issues. So really this entire process is unhealthy and a Dr, who recommends this is violating their code of ethics for personal gain in my opinion. What’s the difference between Jerry Springer and Dr. Phil? One just has a better presentation but they’re both exploiting people for money.

Men are better than women.

This guy should not be on TV. He should be getting help. The program should definitely not be promoting his book.

What business is it of Dr. Phil’s what Britney Spears does with her life? If she really is seeking help I am sure she can find it. Why does he need to do an episode discussing her behaviour? I know, ratings which in turn bring in viewers and sell books and make all involved money.

Please don’t confuse entertainment with professional advice. At the end of the day they are all trying to get paid. Of course that is just my opinion.

Seek the truth always
