Who Hijacked Reality / #525 Personal responsibility is a rare quality in humanity.

Journal Entry #525

August 7th, 2011

Everywhere you look so many are willing to cast blame on others, to avoid their role in daily events and to simply not take personal responsibility. If people just embraced this quality so much would change for the better. For one thing it would lead to acceptance of the truth in things and avoid so much conflict.

I was having a conversation with a distant relative through marriage at a family gathering today. Now I will admit I am not big on these vents but I do make the most of it and try very hard to be civil and polite to all there. I was talking with a certain young man who seemed to blame everyone else for his problems accept himself. No matter how I put it to him  and I was certainly not trying to tell him how to live his life just ask questions to get to the truth in the matters he presented it appeared the other person was always at fault and that he didn’t do anything.

He had been permanently suspended from high school for punching the principal in the face. Now this was not directly but while he was in a fight and the principal tried to break it up.  The excuses were amazing but at no time did he admit it was his fault. I guess the final line was that the other kid was asking for it and the principal should have minded his own business.

Now translate this type of attitude all over the globe and it makes for difficult living for us all.

I try and live my life by what I call “THE CODE” which I have put forth in my blog before;

“The Code”

Truth – I either acknowledge it or I don’t.

Responsibility – I am responsible for all of my actions within the house rules.

Selfish – Everything I do is selfish.

Offend – I can only offend myself.

Gary David Currie

The news is consistently full of people who do not accept personal responsibility. The consequences from these actions affect us all either directly or indirectly.

This is what religion is all about, bringing about evil forces as the cause of problems, how ridiculous…

I get sick and tired of seeing people or hearing people whine and complain so much, blaming the government that they voted in, blaming everyone except themselves and yet most often I see no solutions to these problems being offered. A constant cycle of finger pointing by all involved will solve nothing and create more problems.

So what to do about it; Simple, start accepting responsibility on a personal level which will then translate into relationships all around the world. Stop asking god for things and stop blaming the evils you have created. It really is this simple but will people do it? Probably not even thought it will benefit them.

If this was done the drug problem would be solved, religions would disappear, governments would actually represent the people again, families would be more stable, our environment would be more stable, our economies more stable and all things we can influence would be more stable. This is a win / win proposal for humanity just by doing one thing, accepting responsibility for ones actions and thoughts.

Amazingly one simple (and I it really is simple if we stop the cycle of believing in and acting on lies) act can literally change the world. This should be taught in school, at home and lived as an example for all as a priority.

I truly believe that what I have offered as a guide to life called “THE CODE” is excellent grounding for humanity and if anyone believes I am wrong please share and be prepared to back it up.

Responsibility – I am responsible for all of my actions within the house rules.

Who Hijacked Reality / #303 The idea of PEACE. Let’s put a plan into action.

Journal Entry # 303

January 1st, 2011

I have noticed that many people promote the idea of peace, world peace and individual peace but in my opinion this is futile without a plan. Talk without action is ultimately useless.

I have a plan but I have found that no one wants to hear it. So does this mean people really don’t want peace? Do they just want the illusion of peace or to feel that they are contributing to bringing about a peaceful world?

Is world peace actually possible? Do we really want this as species?

PEACE

My plan….

Step #1. First we have to identify what we really mean by world and individual peace and have agreement on this. If and this is a big if we can get past this step we will have identified the goal.

Step #2. Identify the root cause preventing us from achieving this peace. I believe it is believing in and acting on lies. Not acknowledging what is true. Now this presents another roadblock. What is truth? So now we need to identify and agree on this. I also believe that the most prominent lie we indulge in is religious doctrine or faith based ideals in all their forms. They simply by evidential nature are not true. They as verified by the evidence led to so much misery and pain being the root excuse for the violence and  the prevention of peaceful ways.

It is simple if you give control to anything but ourselves you take away the responsibility for our actions. When you are expecting a god or other force to save you will not act to save yourself.  We must stop following lies and acknowledge what is true. The simple fact is that most conflict can be traced back to some form of religion invented by humanity and the resulting action that it dictates.

Step #3. If we can get past step #2 we have a chance. We can now see that we are responsible as a species for bringing about peace for ourselves and we can now decide on the method to achieve this. We really must change our fundamental thinking and attitudes. It is obvious that what we are doing at present is not working so why would we continue to expect things to get better if we do not change? That is the definition of insanity.

Step #4. Implement the process that we as a species have adopted. Will there be problems? Absolutely but if we don’t change the results will continue to get worst. I am sure that the greatest minds on this planet can formulate and implement a plan of action where all will benefit not just the few. We must think as a species not as individual little tribes each trying to protect our little piece of dirt. The world is now global and we must view it this way.

If anyone has a better plan I am all ears. I will tell you this though;

I don’t care if you believe in a god but I suggest you leave him out of this one and that we take on the job ourselves. Let’s see how that works for a change.

This will be as difficult as we decide it will be. The results are completely up to us. As demonstrated before I do dread that things will get worse before they get better. It does not have to be that way but so many will be unwilling to let go of their ways even though those ways do not work for humanity. We must put aside our selfish nature and realize that we all benefit from this change. Our future will benefit.

I am willing to put this plan into action who else will? It takes one to start it but all to complete it.

Who Hijacked Reality / #13 Christian Radio, Scary as Hell.

Journal Entry # 13

January 25th, 2010

I do a lot of travelling and I spend quite a bit of time listening to Sirius radio. I often scan through various channels trying to find out what is going on in the world. One of my favourite channels is Family Net Radio ( just kidding) which is the evangelical Christian channel primarily for the USA. Now I listen to this to see what ridiculous thing they will say next. During a show Sunday night which features a focus on the issues of the day the host was talking about global warming and how much of a hoax it is. Her special guest was a doctor, I am assuming a PHD. Now I have no problem listening to both or many sides of an issue. If there is new information I am unaware of I want to hear it. Now the program was getting interesting as new info was given but then the usual kicker hit which I must tell you I was waiting for and quite surprised that it took so long to get to. Humans are not causing global warming because that would be in direct conflict of the will of god and that we are headed towards a Pantheistic society with nature as our god. First of all what would be wrong with that? I think they are misunderstanding the idea. It is about respecting and not abusing the planet we live on as it is our source for all we have.  When it is gone we are gone.

The host then said some things that put her views in perspective. When you believe that the world is only 6,000 years old and that at some point Jesus is coming back then your entire view on life will be screwed. I would have a very difficult time believing anything her guest says because even if he presents credible evidence he ends it from a biblical perspective. At what point did we get so screwed up? Unfortunately she represents a large group who have a substantial amount of power. These groups scare the hell out of me.

The entire Christian evangelical movement is very scary. They are powerful in the U.S.A. which is of course a powerful influence in the world. When these groups influence political decisions with their ridiculous belief system I’m even more afraid. Listen some time to shows like The Way of the Master hosted by former comedian Todd Friel. He is very charismatic but the message is stupid. Unfortunately many agree with Todd. When you really listen their real goal is to bring about the end of the world so they can be reunited with their saviour. What a contradiction, saviour in the midst of destruction.
