Journal Entry #540

August 22nd, 2011

Here is what I mean by this statement.

Anything that is discussed in the realm of fantasy can never be verified and will go in the discussion forever as new possibilities can always be dreamt up. No one is ever right or wrong it is just a game.

When dealing in reality often a conclusion can be reached which can be verified. Once this is done the matter at hand can end and we can move on to a new topic for discussion.

The problem when you try and combine the 2 by trying to prove something in the realm of fantasy by using reality is that it will never work.

Religion or faith or belief in gods is a prime example of this as gods exist in the realm of fantasy. Unfortunately many try and pretend that they do not and exist in reality. This again will not work as the god cannot be verified so all attempts to do this will fail.

Many just will not accept this and continue to pretend that what they believe as true by faith exists only in the realm of fantasy as  faith is not required in reality.

If I offer evidence that can be verified say for example that Evolution is true and Creationism is not a rational person must accept this as reality. If one does not then they are thinking delusional.

When one deals in reality and tries to talk from this position to someone who engages in fantasy thinking the 2 will be at odds. The person who follows fantasy cannot talk within reality and the person who deals in reality cannot enter the delusion as the discussion will never end. This is why I have a rule to not participate in the delusion with a person who is talking from a position of fantasy pretending it is true. This is very different than both parties knowing that they are engaging in fantasy thinking which can be simply fascinating to do as long as at the end of the discussion we return to reality.

As a creative person I love doing this but my base is always in reality with a good dose of imagination.

It continues to baffle me that so many engage in delusional thinking when the truth is easily available. To believe fantasy as real is ignorance that humanity needs to abolish. This act continues to plague us causing much of our misery. Many are so deep in their fantasy that reality is lost to them.

To continue to teach our children these thinking patterns is harmful. We must teach them to think critically, to be realistic and rational, to embrace reality and all it has to offer as this is the future for humanity and the fantasies we hold dear are the past.

Reality doesn’t care what you think or believe and will continue to be reality even if you do not acknowledge it.

There are some people, who live in a dream world, and there are some who face reality; and then there are those who turn one into the other.”
