People claim to hear voices, some we make celebrities and others we put in the hospital and treat them for a mental illness. Of course no one can ever prove they don’t hear voices or they do but I would suggest that if one truly does hear voices that they probably need some help. If you are faking it for whatever reason then shame on you.

Does this fit into how the world works? When one identifies these voice as originating from something beyond it is not a leap of faith but ignorance as this just opens the door to now having to justify this other world, the supernatural world but many have already bought into the idea and accept it despite the fact that there is no verifiable evidence for this.

Theresa Caputo says “I have an unusual gift I can talk to the dead, no matter where I go spirits come to me this is not my job this is my life”. She has a one year waiting list so what does this say about the gullibility of people or the idea that they are desperate to reconnect with the ones they loved. Now she says all she has is a name and a number but how do we know that is it.  She believes she has a beautiful and amazing gift from god, really now. Here we have jumped to 2 huge assumptions and accepted them as true.

Are we so desperate to understand the unknown that we will accept anything, any answer even if it has no bearing in how reality works.  People quickly buy into the delusion and that is what it is until it can be verified it is imaginary without putting it to the test.

So far there has not been one documented verifiable case for mediums or anything else that claims that the voices they hear are real and yet people still keep believing.

Who Hijacked Reality / #197 Leap of Reason.

Throughout my life I have been told when it comes to god that I must take a leap of faith. I offer the same to all the faithful, to take a leap of reason.

Suppose one day a man comes up to you and says are you fulfilled?  Is your life complete? Are you ready for your life after death? I can offer you eternal happiness in the afterlife and all you have to do is be willing to jump off the Cliff of Eternal Life.

…….What is the Cliff of Eternal Life?

It is the cliff that leads to the place where eternal life begins and all you have to do is to commit to jump off it when your time is called.

……..How do you know the cliff leads to eternal life?

Well we have a book that tells us all we need to know about what we need to do to get ready for the jump when we are called.

…..Where did the book come from?

2,000 years ago a man came up from the bottom of the cliff He left us a book and then he jumped off to show us it was real. He then came back up again to prove to us once and for all so we would never question anything in the book or that eternal life was real. Then he went back off the cliff where he waits to greet us when we are called.

…..Have you ever jumped off the cliff?

No.

……Do you know anyone that has ever jumped off the cliff and was able to come back and tell you about their eternal life?

No.

…..So how do you know that if you jump off the cliff you will get eternal life?

I know because I believe it with all my heart.

Is this a leap of faith or a leap of reason?

Would you be willing to jump off the cliff with the evidence that I presented above? Would you be willing to take the man at his word? Would you follow the chosen book and its rules? You are probably saying no. So my question to you is why don’t you apply the same reasoning when it comes to the god you believe in. It really is a parallel to what I presented above. What is the difference?

Take a leap of reason and actually question what god is all about, whether it truly is real. When you add up all the evidence there is no realistic reason to believe in any of the gods presented by humanity. You might as well jump off the Cliff of Eternal Life. If god is real nothing I can say or do will change that fact. Also if god is not real the same will apply. Have you really looked at the evidence from all perspectives or are just fooling yourself to get your desires. Then once you’re in the game you play by the rules so you don’t seem phoney.

Take that leap of reason and really look for what is true not what you want to be. That is what I have done most of my life and to this date reason shows that gods are probably not real whether I like it or not. I keep talking about this because I believe that the major cause of humanities  misery is believing in and acting on lies and I rate religion and faith in a god as the number one lie that leads to so much misery.
