We all do

Because the future is now. There is no future or past there is only this moment.

Gary David Currie

How humanity will be 100 years from now will greatly depend on what we teach our children today. The future is now. This is what we must determine for our species to advance peacefully.

This applies to us all.

We must learn from our past. It is not too hard to see what works and what does not so what drives us to make the same mistakes over and over? 200 years ago we did not face the vast majority of the problems we face today.

Overpopulation, misuse of the environment, Global annihilation, Extreme poverty and disease and other issues that we as a species have created. If we start today we can change the path we are on but how will we do this? I believe that we must address the root problem and that is believing and acting on lies in the forms of religion, choices of rule and weaponry for starters. We tend to ignore reality in favor of fantasy.

We must learn and we must teach our children to;

Think critically.

Think for themselves as well as the welfare of all humanity.

To Seek the truth and acknowledge it when it is discovered.

To define things within our reality.

To dream and imagine.

To set goals that are realistic and achievable.

To realize that peace is the goal not domination.

That we can serve others while being selfish.

To become knowledgeable in all areas of life.

To take the road less traveled.

To have respect and self-worth in our selves and others.

To think not only individually but expanding to global thinking as well.

That war is never the ultimate answer.

That to dehumanize another dehumanizes oneself in the process.

That stuff is just stuff and the need will never be fulfilled.

That true happiness comes in moments as well as every other emotional state.

That while faith is important it must be balanced by reason.

That we only have this life so don’t waste it.

Question everything.

That life is about balance and when the balance is off we must correct it.

That our life here on this planet is amazing if we want it to be.

That you are never too old to try something new.

To think creatively.

That love is a powerful force.

We must listen before we speak understand before we offer an opinion and acknowledge the facts as facts.

That to serve you fellow human beings has great personal rewards.

Balance

What will the world be like in 100 years if we all embraced these and other positive principals? We must not teach hate, vengeance, righteousness, disrespect, war and above all anything that is a lie.

I suggest we start to learn from our mistakes instead of making them again this is the definition of stupidity, to do the same thing over and over and expect a different result.

Seek the truth always

Who Hijacked Reality / #230 We are not in CONTROL although we like to think we are.

As humans we have developed a skill that we feel has served us well but it has not, we are masters at fooling ourselves. We are not in control of our life’s. We can influence the outcome but believe me when I tell you this we are at the mercy of the natural world around us. It is only luck that we have survived as long as we have.

Humanity believes that we can shape the planet to do our bidding and that the resources will be there forever silly rabbits that we are. When the planet has had enough don’t worry it will let us know. Even if somehow we were to tame this beast we are but a drop in the ocean to the vastness of the universe. This is based on our understanding of it and it appears there is so much that we do not understand.

Cause and effect, a simple determination of how things work do we care? It appears not or else we would be very respectful of this process. We have been here such a short time to understand how the earth and the universe really functions and yet we seem to just keep on trying to control the world around us. I think it is time to stop fooling ourselves.

I am a simple man in my solutions and understanding of life. I like to get rid of all the garbage and just get to the idea, the point.

Let’s take a look at some problems we face as a species and look for a solution. We face the vast majority of these problems because we thought we were in control. Let’s drop this illusion and see if we can get back to a state of harmony with the planet that gives us life.

Overpopulation

6,851,329,902  and counting.

The solution is to stop having so many children. When women are educated they will be less likely to have more than 2 children. If you take away the religious doctrines and ignorance in the world this will drastically reduce our growing population. The planet simply cannot sustain this many people. We must stop.

Nuclear threats… get rid of the nuclear weapons and all agree that we will not create any more. Get rid of religious ideology that would promote the use of these terrible weapons.

Violent conflict.  Stop fighting and start helping each other. Whatever your reason is to hurt another human being we all suffer for it so stop.

Poverty and starvation… There is enough money and food in this world that we should all be able to be safe and healthy so let’s just take care of this problem.

You might think I am being over simplistic and that this will never happen but why not? Is it really that hard? We are the first species on this planet that has the capability to influence our future so why do we keep choosing the negative options. Stop and think and above all quit fooling ourselves. I ask the silent majority to stop being silent. The solutions are only as hard as we want them to be. If we can figure out a way to travel in space the rest should be easy.
