I often see arrogance such as this;
God is not a scientific matter. Me claiming that there is a God requires no proof from me, as I have no desire to prove that there is a God.
There’s no need for it – it’s too easy to blow holes through “material philosophy,” and that is enough.
Trying to evangelize to materialist about higher powers is like pissing into a sea of piss.
Of course atheism is not synonymous with “material philosophy.”
Yes you do, if you make a claim have the decency, integrity and evidence to back it up or admit that you are wrong. The burden of proof will always be on the claimant and if you cannot provide positive evidence for it then please keep it yourself.
Now the other side to this is that people need to stop believing these claims without verification are true and call the claimant on it as well. The burden of proof is everything, our entire legal system is based on this idea and yet we seem to ignore it when it comes to our favourite belief that requires no proof or just plain bad evidence to convince certain people.
For example there were and still are people who believe that the moon landings were faked, now do they have any evidence to back up their claim that is credible, no they do not. Now there is fantastic evidence to verify that the moon landings took place, new current evidence beyond the plenty already available and yet certain people will still deny it but offer no evidence for their claim.

I see this all the time so I asked someone this question; funny I got no response.
Basically and you tell if you think I am off track here. I really only see one argument from every argument presented for god and that is what Pascal’s wager is, I call it the just in casers argument.
The argument I see is this;
Since neither can prove the other ultimately right or wrong there is no reason to not believe in god if one chooses to, or it is by faith that I chose to believe and I get this. Now of course this can be applied to anything because ultimately we can always cast doubt on anything which negates the absolute.
So if this is the case where or should we find a position to draw the line when we call something true or not and how do we determine this line?
The same argument can be presented for teapots flying around Jupiter. And yet very few if any would believe this to be true.
This is the basic dilemma I see. Your thoughts…
I get it everyone wants to be valued, to feel important but what I don’t get is why the truth is not enough to accomplish this, sure we can fool ourselves into thinking certain things are true when they probably are not but this will not accomplish anything worthwhile in life.
Of course writing this article will not change anything, people will still go on believing in their delusions and professing them publicly. This will still continue to divide and hurt us a species. A child in Afghanistan cares not what I think and if his parents tell him Allah is true he will believe it. So how do we change this pattern? That is the important question. It will change as it must for us to evolve or else we will become extinct. Time will tell if what I think and others who propose similar thoughts are right or wrong.
Every day we see so many ridiculous claims and then the results of believing and following these claims. To me this is all obvious but to most I am the one who is delusional.
I realize I am probably talking to myself here and I am fine with that as this is just the way it is. I am creating a body of work here that maybe someday will affect someone somewhere. If not at least I get my thoughts out there.
The truth is vital to understand in our daily life’s as every moment we are deciding if something is true or not and acting on this choice. Most of the time we make good choices or else we would be dead but other times we are so far off in acknowledging what is true that I am surprised we do survive.
So if you make a claim be prepared to be challenged and respond respectfully and with integrity you just maybe justified in your claim but if you are not stop making the claim. Know when to admit you are wrong and be prepared to accept what is true.
You will be a better human being for this.
Seek the truth always
