I consistently see Christians try to mix reason and logic with the concept of faith but unfortunately for them they fail to see the flaw that the two just don’t mix. Even in the realm of fantasy there must be rules. Now if you make up the rules as you go along then you can try and fit things in but this will be a constant adjustment. When you know the rules to begin with things are always much better.
This is a standard comment I pulled from a site called “The Bible” on Face Book. Once you apply the rules that the universe abides by the flaws appear but when you ignore the rules and try and fit them in or simply just make shit up then all things are up for grabs. That is the problem; if there are no rules that are consistent then anything will seem possible and if all things are possible then how will you ever know what is actually true?
God made man’s heart right, but he turned to sin. Don’t blame God for mans choices
God doesn’t want Robots, but people who chose right ways.
Let’s start with several assumptions here that this statement represents.
1. That god is actually real.
2. That our heart has anything to do with how we act.
3. The idea that sin exists.
4. What god actually wants as if god was real only he would know this?
5. The definition of what a robot is compared to a human.
6. What is exactly the right way and that there are certain people who chose it.
Now this is all just from this one comment.

The most important part of this statement is that god does not want robots but that is exactly what he wants if we are to believe god is real, omnipotent and all powerful. I have said this before that if you actually think this through god knows all events which in its simplicity means he has decided all outcomes of all things. This means we are robots. Our paths are already chosen. All mans choices are god choices. I find this beyond acceptable for a world I would like to live in.
Is this the way the world really works? No it isn’t and I am thankful for that. We make our own destiny working within the rules of the universe. That is our choice. Mans choices are simply mans choices and each choice has consequences that can be both positive and negative to our existence.
We are not robots in the sense that robots are programmed to behave and react within a limited number of options that do not involve emotions. That is the difference we have emotions. Our emotions guide our choices.
My main point here is that there must be a set of rules that we are governed by that at the core are consistent so we know where we stand. We know what our options are. Those options must be based in reality which they are whether we realize or acknowledge it or not. Just because you believe in god does not allow god to be real, you are still bound by the rules of the universe. Do I like the rules of the universe? Yes I do because they allow me as I am to exist. Would I like to see different rules? I don’t know because there will be consequences.
Would I like to live longer and have a better life? Yes I would but that would mean all would as well and I have no idea what the consequences would be. I do believe things can be better for humanity while still respecting the rules. Science and reason identify the actual rules so we know where we stand. Science explains how the world works and this is a fantastic thing. Time to put god on the shelf in the myth and superstition section and get on with the real world.
This universe is full of wonders just waiting to be discovered so let’s get to it.
