Journal Entry # 314

Ok I recently have been involved with discussions or debate about the validity of the flood story and Noah’s Ark being true. I am not the first one to write about this or see the fallacy it represents so I have linked sources that offer credible evidence.
If you have credible evidence that refutes what I present I would love to see it otherwise if you are a believer I will assume you go with the magic in your calculations and of course there is no ultimate way to refute magical thinking
The flaws in this story as we relate them to reality are vast. The challenges in the natural world we live in make it impossible and yet still with the evidence presented that refutes this story is ignored. Now there are people who still believe in god but view this as a story to represent a morality story but there are many who take this literally. If this story is not true then what else in the bible is not true?
I recently posted this on FACE BOOK.
Question. Is it possible to repopulate the earth on all continents with the variations in all species displayed from a single event such as Noah’s Ark entirely from Noah’s family and the animals he kept as shown in the bible in 4,000 years?
As said to me by a creationist;
“Yes, I think 4,000 years could easily repopulate the planet.”
What are the pros and cons to this premise?
What flaws does this raise and what logic does it demonstrate in its verification?
If it is not true does this now show the bible to be false? If it is true does this verify the bible as true?
How do we verify the evidence we present and if you discredit evidence on what basis?
This is the central theme and if one event in the bible is false or true what does this say about all the other events?
Let’s get to the truth on this.
This doesn’t make it any more real.
Ok so what is the evidence?

A great article to actually look at the math and the variables needed.

This video addresses the population questions in regards to where we were 200 years ago and where we are now.
There is enough information in the links and videos I presented to verify that the story of Noah’s ark is just not true. I urge people to stop taking it as true. We have enough hurdles to overcome in this world without adding to it with delusional thinking.
As my son says to me about fantasy from a comic he heard; for your information a missile defense shield is a net made of magic held up in the sky by pixies. This is a reference to George Bush.
Again if you subscribe to magic then it will be believable but if you deal in reality it will not.
The very idea that a man can live to 950 years old as the reported age of Noah at his death is beyond even considering believable.

The above linked post from The Atheist Experience addresses some of the obvious challenges Noah and his family would have faced and if it is possible to recreate the ark today using the tools of the time. The Creation Museum in Kentucky is planning to spend 25 million dollars to do this but will they follow the methods of the time it was built.

So if you have any inkling of sanity I am sure you will have to ask yourself how this story could possibly be real otherwise you will justify it within the realm of magic. You will think that all others who do not believe just don’t understand your god and the possibilities that are real with your god. I can say with confidence that you are deluding yourself.
